Position:      CLIENT DIRECTOR

Level:             Management


This role assumes responsibility for the agency’s performance and client relationship on a day-to-day basis. In doing so, this role requires ownership of the daily output of the agency (strategy, execution and service) to ensure consistent delivery of the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership in ensuring best-in-class practices and ownership of agency processes. It also requires strong collaboration and communication with the relevant board director.

Key Roles and Responsibilities


  • Creation and management of Media strategies on behalf of core client portfolio
  • Ownership of the day to day delivery of the client media requirements
  • Ownership of the day to day delivery of the agency’s output
  • Management of Client trading and price commitments including overseeing of audit material and final review presentation and any associated actions
  • A passion to continuously learn and grow understanding of clients business and of our industry
  • Ownership of the digital output of the client’s business


  • Management of commercial projections of client portfolio
  • Contribution to delivering against Starcom profit targets
  • Management of commercial client contracts (in scope & OOS)
  • Actively working to deliver the agency’s digital vision and striving to ensure digital excellence among our client portfolio – including working with the SEO and PPC team to help deliver their commercial targets
  • Ensure our programs deliver profit to our clients and our agency
  • A strong belief and commitment to the importance of ROI

  • Build a high performing team by creating a positive environment combining challenge & support for both the team and the individuals to deliver identified goals.
  • Carry out annual 360 Reviews and ensure the effective management of team personal development plans


  • Ability to influence externally (with Customers) & internally (wider Core Media Group where relevant) to get full execution of our agreed plans and activities
  • Articulate the agency’s vision for collaboration and ensure the team are with you on the journey
  • Deliver seamlessly integrated campaigns on behalf of our clients – ensuring digital is stitched into everything we do


  • Champion requirements of agency’s board
  • Build effective relationships with Customers and potential partners to develop programs which deliver value
  • Create strong links with the agency and Core Media Group
  • Build / manage strong relationships with the Media and Marketing industry


  • 6 years minimum marketing experience – Media agency experience preferable
  • Digital First mind-set
  • Strong digital background and experience – the ability to recommend an overall channel strategy including offline and digital (display, social and search)
  • Retail experience required
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team essential
  • Third level qualification – marketing, business or related discipline.
  • Project Planning experience – Requirement to demonstrate delivery of large and complex campaign activity – multi-channel
  • Strong digital background and experience – the ability to recommend an overall channel strategy including offline & digital (display, social and search)
  • Strong track record of delivering large campaigns (€1mn+)
  • Analytical – ability to map trends and make recommendations and business cases as a result of data
  • Worked as part of cross functional team
  • A passion and commitment to our industry and to growing clients business through innovation
